None of our strategies involve betting on a winner of the match.!
ALL match selections are a trade either/and, on goal time and score lines.
All trades are placed on Betfair Exchange (not sportsbook)
Most selections are published a few days ahead. However, a few of the systems, in part, rely on the Betfair odds. Invariably the price odds market's do not properly form until the day before a match - hence this generates occasional late additions to the selections list.
BFM
BFM - BeFore Match
A selection strategy built around placing trades before the start of play.
A cocktail of five merged trading systems. These cover overs/unders, 1st half score lines and overall full time match scores.
Originally on two of these, we intended to introduce a system based upon games in which there was a strong favorite - and the likely score-line was going to be high, i.e. the 'Any other home win' or 'Any other away win' score-lines. Our plan was going to be a LAY of those scores before kick off followed by a BACK trade, once price drifted during play.
That did not work out too well! - too many games where there was an early goal.
However analysis of all of these games generated an alternative strategy.
In over 90% of these matches the number of goals scored was ALWAYS greater than X.
These systems are now, before kick off BACK trades in the goals market!
Other systems within the BFM cocktail are score-line lays, and trades in various over/under markets.
To the 7th January 2025 this cocktail has covered 721 selections with just 19 losing trades
That is a 97.4% win rate.
The matches were spread across 40 different countries incorporating 62 leagues.
IP
IP - In Play
Our next strategy simply does what it says.
This group of six trading systems focuses on taking an odds price improvement, once the game has started in matches with no early goals.
All selections are based upon entering a trade after varying numbers of minutes. When goals go in, either just cash out, or enhance profits further by delaying a cash-out or just letting the trade run.
Trading markets used are always the over/under goals markets.
Through to 7th January 2025, this group of strategies generated 924 selections with just 26 losing trades. That is 97.2% win rate. 67 different leagues were used for these IP selections drawn from 47 countries.
BANG!
BANG - Back ANother Goal
And finally......!
The 40 minute Bang is a cocktail of 8 soccer trading systems.
All the BANG systems were originally intended to be just second half of match trades. However, analysis of first half goal times shows a disproportionately high percentage of goals occur between 40 minutes and half time.
Part of the reason for this, of course, is the amount of injury time played meaning that the five minutes is easily extended out to 10 minutes+
With no significant downside to prices available - between the end of first half and start of second half -this strategy captures that potential.
From moment of trade placement - exactly at 40 minutes - our window is potentially 60 more minutes of play.
Irrespective of the score-line, we are backing another goal to be scored by full time.
Once the trade is placed there is obviously no further trading, as we only require one more goal.
A very simple, straightforward and effective strategy to implement!

RESULT - following strategy filter reviews and country/league performance analysis, a dozen or so leagues were removed, and several of the 20 mini strategies ere fine tuned.
So, final revised figures for the testing are as follows:
BANG - 154 selections- 9 losing trades - 94.2% strike rate
BFM - 53 selections - 4 losing trades - 92.5% strike rate
IP - 49 selections - 2 losing trades - 96% stike rate.
We are now good to go!!

Cash out or let run?
Now, cashing out after first goal is the most conservative strategy, and that is what the performance and profit results are based on.
There are two alternatives for your consideration – and generally these can be applied WHENEVER THE RECOMMENDED BET IS TO CASH OUT AFTER FIRST GOAL.
Firstly after a goal has been scored, make a partial cash out to reduce your risk to zero, and then let the trade run in the hope of a further goal.
Secondly do NOT cash out, take no action and just let the trade run. No further goal of course means your stake has been lost, but if there is another goal, the profit will be greater.
These two alternatives are of course going to be influenced by your attitude to risk!
What we will say, is that the average win rate currently across all IP & BFM strategies is 96.8%. This is based upon taking the first option and cashing out completely when a first goal is scored.
Either of the other two options achieve a strike rate of 89%. i.e. letting the trade run and at least one more goal is scored.
Using in play statistics to determine your next move ...
If considering either of these alternative options (i.e. after a goal) one further suggestion we will offer, is to check the match in-play stats on bet 365
They give real time stats on attacks, shots on target, percentage possession etc....
This is all good key real time information – we are looking for high number of attacks, shots & shots on target, a good number of corners, and does one team have a possession advantage or is the match evenly matched..
The analysis will help you form a picture of the likelihood of there being more goals…
Thinking outside the box
Example:
We will mention this game in particular – Egypt 5pm kick off 14th June - , because this presented extra opportunities. Our strategy here was to wait 15 minutes then if 0-0 place the trade.
The reason mostly for such delays is primarily to take advantage of better odds than available at kick off.
In this instance 1.35 was available before the match in the over 1.5 market. Our stats say there was a 97% (1.03) probability of there being at least one goal, and an 89% (1.12) probability of more than one goal being scored. This Betfair price suggests a probability of 74%.
We would not have discouraged anyone from taking advantage of this price at the outset (perhaps with 50% of your stake) and then going back in at 15 minutes – when the odds had improved still further – with the other 50% of stake.
The goal came in the 26th minute. Amazingly at half time the odds for over 1.5 goals were still 1.45 (69% probability), when only one more goal was needed, and our stats had this probability at 89%. Also, if you had looked at the bet365 stats for the match in play, it looked very likely that there were more goals to come in the second half. In the circumstances again we would have fully agreed with a decision - either of letting the existing trades run on, OR, if you had cashed out, considered going in again.. the match finished 1-2.

We mention the above scenario just as an example of opportunities that may arise during a match if you are monitoring in play, that present alternative scenarios & possibilities. Incidentally, we had feedback the following day that one of the beta testers had done just that, having spotted the pre match 1.5+ odds, and enjoyed an excellent return on the match.
We only ever record however, the outcome strictly of the system bet as advised

It will enable more trade placements on busy days, and, taking easier advantage of matches at unsociable kick off times. As our testers will know, the recent trial on non-european leagues generated matches with kick-off times, several hours ahead or behind GMT.

Probability and value
Many of the system strategies have a delayed entry point x time after match begins.
There are a few reasons for this, and one of the most important is that - as the match progresses -in the absence of goals, prices move out offering better value than at kick off.
All of our strategies have a win probability of greater than 95%. That equates to a true market odds of 1.04ish. Any odds we can get greater than that are offering increasing value.
Whilst, we may all consider that a Betfair price of 1.08/1.10 area is just too low it must be viewed in conjunction with outcome likelihood, and when taken in isolation there will be times when that price is in fact value.!
All we are saying is whilst everyone has a notional level of odds that they will not back below, and that is clearly down to personal choice, our probability percentages (which are shown alongside every single selection) offer the opportunity to make an informed decision, every time, regarding acceptable odds and value.
Conversely there are regularly matches where Betfair pricing is wrong, and we have found that excellent value pricing is to be found at an early point in some games generating very nice profits...

Above all else REMEMBER, if the odds don't grab you, don't place the trade. In the overall scheme of things there will be over 280 trades per month with a 95%+ win probability - you can afford to be selective.
